ALEXANDRA ROSE BEING SHIPPED TO AUSTRALIA ON A FOAL-SHARE DEAL,
TEAM VALOR/VAN HEERDEN MARE WILL VISIT HUSSONET AT ARROWFIELD,
CAESOUR MARE WAS GRADED STAKES WINNER IN SO AFRICA/CALIFORNIA

Alexandra Rose, a Graded stakes winner in her native South Africa and North America, will be flown from Southern California to Australia next month.

In a deal arranged by Robin Bruss of Northfields Bloodstock in South Africa, the mare will be covered by Hussonet, a stallion sold to Arrowfield Stud by Bruss while he stood with considerable success in Chile. Hussonet is enjoying a fine season at stud Down Under for John Messara’s equine nursery.

Such is the success experienced this season by Hussonet that his stud fee for the 2008-2009 has been raised to $137,000 according to Bruss.

The offspring of the mating will be sold at public auction as a yearling in Australia.

The bay daughter of Caesour was campaigned to victory in the Grade 2 Golden Slipper Stakes in South Africa by Juan van Heerden, who subsequently sold a half interest to Team Valor. Racing for the partnership, Alexandra Rose was beaten a short head in the Grade 1 Cape Fillies Guineas by the then undefeated Bad Girl Runs.

Following a Listed placing when trained in Dubai by Mike de Kock, Alexandra Rose then raced in Southern California with trainer Neil Drysdale, for whom she won the Grade 3 Monrovia Handicap sprinting downhill on grass at Santa Anita.
