EXCUSE ME, DID SOMEBODY MENTION SOMETHING ABOUT STATS?
STATELY BECOMES GRADED STAKES WINNER NUMBER 50 FOR STABLE

The weekend’s two stakes victories pumped up the stable’s seasonal and all-time statistics, allowing three important barometers to move up a percentage point when rounded off.

“They say figures don’t lie, but liars figure,” laughed Barry Irwin “and in this instance that extra couple of tenths of a point did add up.”

Thanks to the victory by Stately in the Grade 3 Strelitzia Stakes, runners syndicated since 1987 by Barry Irwin and Jeff Siegel now can boast percentages that follow:
  • Graded Stakes Winners – Stately becomes number 50, which equates to a 17-percent strike rate over 20 seasons.
  • Graded Stakes Horses – Stately becomes number 113, which equates to a 38-percent success in this category.
  • Stakes Winners – Stately is stakes winner number 83, which is good for a 28-percent ratio.
  • Stakes Horses – Stately is stakes horse number 113, reflecting a 51-percent incidence since 1987.
For the 2007, Team Valor and partners now have campaigned 5 stakes winners, as follows:
  • Little Miss Magic, Grade 1 winner of the Empress Club Stakes in South Africa, where she has a chance at Championship honors.
  • King of the Roxy, Grade 2 winner of the Hutcheson Stakes, runner-up in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby, candidate for the Preakness.
  • Stately, Grade 3 winner of the Strelitzia Stakes, candidate for the Grade 1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship Stakes next start.
  • Fairbanks, Grade 3 winner of the Tokyo City Handicap at Santa Anita, candidate for the Grade 1 Suburban against Invasor next.
  • Audacious Chloe, stakes winner of the Gaily Gaily and Appalachian Stakes, next engagement undecided.
